AutoStore Optimizes Omnichannel Operations for Rogers Sporting Goods

Rogers Sporting Goods, a family-owned omnichannel retailer of hunting and outdoor gear, faced significant challenges in its distribution center. After moving to a larger facility, rapid growth and an expanding product line created spatial constraints and operational inefficiencies. The company needed to increase storage and order processing capacity for both e-commerce and retail store replenishment without expanding its physical footprint, while also reducing lead times and labor costs. To address this, they partnered with vendor AutoStore to implement an automated storage and retrieval system.

The solution from AutoStore was a cube-based system utilizing 22 robots, 51,000 bins, and four workstations, all managed by Kommand AS software. This system maximized storage density and streamlined picking processes. The implementation resulted in a 50-66% faster order turnaround, with e-commerce orders now shipped within 24 hours. Store replenishment picking times were cut by 50%, and the operation achieved increased productivity and inventory accuracy with fewer employees, all within the same facility.
