AutoStore Elevates Duty-Free Shopping at TRN, Oslo Airport

Travel Retail Norway (TRN), which operates duty-free shops at multiple Norwegian airports, faced challenges in maximizing its limited storage space and increasing the speed of its online order fulfillment. To address these issues, TRN partnered with AutoStore and its distributor, Element Logic, to implement an automated warehouse picking system.

The AutoStore solution utilized a grid of 6,000 bins serviced by robots to create a high-density storage system. This implementation by AutoStore resulted in a 64% increase in storage capacity within the same warehouse footprint and improved order fulfillment speed by six times, reducing the waiting period for customers from six hours to just one.
