Arvato Boosts Efficiency, Throughput, and Density with AutoStore

Arvato, a global third-party logistics (3PL) provider, was challenged by a healthcare client to take over and modernize a fully manual warehouse in Memphis, requiring the implementation of state-of-the-art automation technology. To meet this demand for increased efficiency, density, and precise inventory control, Arvato partnered with vendor AutoStore and its integration partner, Swisslog, to implement an automated storage and retrieval system.

The solution implemented by AutoStore utilized 48 R5 robots and Swisslog's SynQ software, which integrated seamlessly with Arvato's SAP system. This implementation resulted in expanded storage capacity with over 50,000 bins, significantly improved picking efficiency and order throughput, and enhanced inventory accuracy. The AutoStore system also helped Arvato attract and retain a quality workforce and provided the scalability to support the site's continued growth.
