A AutoStore Case Study
flaschenpost SE, a German online grocer, faced the challenge of meeting burgeoning demand for its rapid delivery service while expanding its product assortment. To further develop its intralogistics processes, the company partnered with vendor AutoStore to implement an automated micro-fulfillment solution.
The solution implemented by AutoStore was a multi-temperature system featuring separate chilled and ambient grids managed by robots. This allowed flaschenpost to efficiently pick both dry and refrigerated goods from a single workstation. The results were significant, enabling the fulfillment center to process 1,000 customer orders per hour and up to 12,000 items per day. The success of this initial AutoStore system led flaschenpost to immediately commission a second, nearly identical facility.
