A Automox Case Study
The University Of Colorado Law School, a public graduate law school supporting roughly 700 users and about 160 mixed Mac and Windows devices, faced no centralized patching, high SCCM costs, and an inability to reliably patch third‑party or off‑premise machines. To address this they evaluated and deployed Automox—for OS patching, software and third‑party patch management, and endpoint configuration—to gain a cloud‑based, multi‑OS solution that could manage remote faculty devices and diverse SaaS dependencies.
Automox delivered centralized visibility and automation through its dashboard, policy groups, remote PowerShell execution, and support for Macs and offline devices, enabling proactive responses to vulnerabilities like Spectre/Meltdown. As a result, Automox helped the school patch and configure its entire fleet remotely, improve its security posture, reduce the attack surface (Automox claims over 80% reduction), and free IT staff from reactive patching so they can focus on training and user support.
