Case Study: Carphone Warehouse achieves predictable, error-free retail processes and SEPA compliance with Automic Business Automation

A Automic Case Study

Preview of the Carphone Warehouse Case Study

Mobile phone retail processes and expertise packaged in a box

Carphone Warehouse, Europe’s largest independent telecommunications retailer with over 2,000 stores and 10 million subscribers, created Connected World Services to package its mobile retail expertise for B2B partners. The division faced a complex, heterogeneous IT landscape—processes spanned Unix and Windows systems, relied on hundreds of thousands of nightly scripts, and needed to be predictable and error-free to support partner services and meet regulatory deadlines such as SEPA.

The company replaced its homegrown scripts with the Automic Business Automation platform to provide a single automation layer across platforms, giving end-to-end visibility and more consistent, dependable processes. The change eliminated over 100,000 lines of code, improved process visualization, and automated direct-debit flows to achieve SEPA compliance ahead of the February 2014 deadline, allowing any process improvement to be deployed once and benefit all partners.
