A Automic Case Study
Migros, Switzerland’s largest retailer with more than 600 supermarkets, faced rising distribution costs and delivery delays from a decentralized logistics model run by 10 regional co‑operatives and external partners. Supplying perishable food and beverages required precise, timely consolidation and processing, so Migros set out to centralize logistics, improve order accuracy, optimize the supply chain and reduce costs.
Migros deployed SAP‑certified Automic Dollar Universe to orchestrate SAP and non‑SAP batch jobs across a distributed, event‑driven architecture, automating about 3,000 jobs a day and providing a single point of control. The solution ensured non‑stop production with no single point of failure, consolidated data by 12 p.m. and completed order processing before 4 a.m. (two hours to process over 100,000 items), enabling on‑time delivery of hundreds of thousands of perishable items, faster turnaround and lower IT operations costs.
