Case Study: Raiffeisen Switzerland achieves two‑thirds reduction in operating costs and rapid Avaloq automation with Automic Workload Automation

A Automic Case Study

Preview of the Raiffeisen Case Study

Delivering state-of-the-art banking services to 3.7 million Swiss citizens

Raiffeisen Switzerland — serving 3.7 million Swiss citizens — needed to automate a complex Avaloq-based core banking environment and its 30+ surrounding applications. Avaloq offered limited native automation and the cooperative’s existing job scheduler was not Avaloq-certified, creating operational risk and a costly maintenance burden as they migrated core payment and securities processing into Avaloq.

Raiffeisen chose Automic Workload Automation for its certified Avaloq interface and straightforward migration; over April–November 2011 they moved 31 applications (including high-volume Avaloq jobs) and automatically transferred most peripheral systems. The platform delivered high availability, regular compliance updates, and a uniform automation layer — cutting operating costs by about two-thirds with an ROI in under three years and now managing roughly 41 peripheral systems and ~112 interfaces.
