Case Study: Deutsche Post achieves 50% lower setup costs and 40% faster production with Automic

A Automic Case Study

Preview of the Deutsche Post Case Study

Automic automates and schedules entire data workflow process for Deutsche Post

Deutsche Post (part of the Deutsche Post DHL Group) provides outsourced communication services for energy and telecommunications companies and had been running an automated meter-reading and invoicing solution built from a mix of EDI products, schedulers and workflow tools. As customer numbers and process complexity grew—even after moving to an Oracle backend—the environment lacked the intelligence, resilience and scalability to monitor, extend and efficiently manage the end-to-end data workflow, creating heavy administrative overhead.

They implemented the Automic event-based automation platform to provide intelligent multi‑platform scheduling, integrated HTTP/FTP communications and centralized monitoring. Automic now automates the full process—data intake, printing and mailing meter‑reading cards, handling scanned or online returns, updating databases and returning enriched data to utilities (including optional invoicing)—enabling 24x7 operations, a simplified Java/Solaris architecture, 50% lower new‑customer setup costs, 25–40% faster production execution and improved productivity.
