Automating System Copies Pays Off for REHAU within First Year

REHAU, a global leader in polymer-based solutions with more than 40,000 products, €2.8 billion in sales and around 17,000 employees, relies on over 120 SAP systems to deliver shared services. Regular production system copies were essential for realistic testing, but manual pre- and post-processing (adjusting parameters, users, rights and interfaces) tied up REHAU’s seven-person SAP BASIS team for up to a week, costing as much as 35 man-days and limiting copies to emergency situations.

REHAU deployed Automic’s Automated System Copy for SAP (on their existing Automic Workload Automation platform) and—after minimal training—ran their first automated copies within two weeks. Centralized administration, parallel execution and reusable workflows cut post-processing from up to 35 man-days to one, tripled copy throughput, enabled next-day copies (88 completed to date), paid for itself within the first year and freed staff to focus on higher-value work with no additional maintenance costs.
