Pain Care Physicians, a US-based healthcare provider specializing in pain medicine across four central locations, struggled with high-volume manual record handling — more than 100 faxes/day in varied formats, time-consuming verification of patient and physician details, complex data extraction, and compiling roughly 300 PDF records a day. To address these challenges they partnered with AutomationEdge and deployed AutomationEdge’s RPA along with OCR and the AutomationEdge Repair Station.
AutomationEdge implemented RPA bots that log into SmartSheet and eMDs, fetch and OCR faxed documents from Updox, consolidate PDFs, update patient charts and route records for user review via the Repair Station, and notify clinicians. The automation cut manual effort dramatically and delivered measurable results: a 95% TAT reduction in Health Information Management and a 75% TAT reduction in the Updox process, while improving accuracy and workflow efficiency.
