Borden Dairy, a Dallas-based milk producer and distributor, faced heavy manual workload across shared services—high-volume reconciliations, billing ticket processing, EDI invoice handling, purchase order creation and email-driven master-data changes. To address these challenges the company engaged AutomationEdge for RPA and advisory services; AutomationEdge performed an RPA assessment, identified seven high-impact processes (accounting for 87% of the attainable savings) and built a roadmap for automation.
AutomationEdge implemented RPA bots across those processes—automating bank/vendor reconciliation, PDF billing ticket retrieval, EDI payment verification and invoice sending, PO creation, email/master-data handling and payroll reporting—delivering large time savings and accuracy improvements. Measurable results included cheque processing cut from 240 to 10 minutes (per 30 checks), ticket processing reduced from 480 min/75 tickets to 55 min/250 tickets, invoice handling from 180 to 15 min/30 invoices, PO processing from 1 PO/hour to 2 POs/min, email consolidation from 450 to 20 min/40 emails, and overall reductions such as 75% less report management time, 96% less email consolidation time, 98.3% less PO tracking time and a 66% reduction in invoice/ticket management time.
