Synergy, Western Australia’s leading energy generator and retailer, identified that its outsourced, transactional billing processes were slow, error‑prone and required users to switch between multiple systems (SAP ERP, document management, websites and MS Office). The company saw an opportunity to bring billing in‑house and use robotic process automation (RPA) to cut costs, reduce average handling time and errors, and improve the end customer experience.
