RPA Helps Power Faster Processes for Norwegian Company

Lyse is a leading Norwegian renewable energy and fiber-optic broadband company that grew rapidly and found many routine, manual processes slowing operations — notably the multi-agency permit applications required to dig trenches for cabling. To relieve this pressure and free employees for higher-value work, Lyse decided to invest in robotic process automation (RPA).

They gained management buy-in, ran an in-house POC workshop to build test bots, and rolled out automation across IT, HR, customer service, back office and procurement — including a bot that formats and distributes a single permit application to all required agencies. The program has delivered more than 20,000 hours saved annually with 50 bots deployed (100 targeted), increased employee engagement, and Lyse is now industrializing bot delivery with a goal of cutting average implementation time to one week.
