A Automation Anywhere Case Study
Azbil Corporation, a century-old Japanese manufacturer of control and measuring instruments, adopted the Windchill PLM package and intentionally used 99% of its standard functions to avoid costly customizations. That decision exposed interoperability gaps between Windchill and Azbil’s existing systems, causing manual workarounds, errors and inefficiencies; most RPA tools proved unable to interact reliably with Windchill’s complex interface.
Azbil selected Automation Anywhere to bridge the gap, starting with a partial rollout that automated Excel‑based application processes and then expanded to more than 20 bots over five months for user registrations/deletions, permissions and change workflows. The automation eliminated data‑entry errors, reduced processing time by 20–50%, saved about 200 hours in five months, required zero PLM customizations, and introduced continuity measures and governance—enabling plans to scale RPA across the company.
