Retail Business Services (RBS), the shared-services arm of Ahold Delhaize USA that supports six East Coast grocery brands and Peapod, needed to scale automation across finance and other shared services. They ran into limits when processes required interacting with vendor websites or applications, leading to denied requests, delays and high vendor change costs.

By deploying Automation Anywhere RPA, RBS automated accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory and other tasks with 65+ bots, including password management, freeing staff for higher-value work. The program has saved more than 69,000 FTE hours, automated about 75% of finance-eligible processes, reduced errors and rework, removed the need for vendor application changes, and is expanding into more complex, AI-enabled automations.
