OneSource Virtual’s 24-Hour response to CARES act drives business continuity

OneSource Virtual (OSV) is a Dallas-based pioneer in Business Process as a Service (BPaaS) and a Workday partner that supports over 1,300 customers. After beginning an RPA initiative in late 2018 to boost efficiency and accuracy across payroll and finance processes, OSV faced a sudden COVID-19 challenge: rapidly updating proprietary tax systems and tracking new CARES Act payroll tax deferrals and credits across multiple platforms.

OSV partnered with Automation Anywhere and deployed IQ Bot, Task Bots and a C# MetaBot that used Salesforce APIs and a secure SQL audit store to extract payroll data, create cases, attach encrypted extracts, and generate reporting — all within 24 hours. The automation created 3,500+ cases (2,700+ closed), processed $724.6M in deferrals and $40.4M in credits, automated 99% of cases, and saved 1,500+ hours in three months while continuing weekly case management and reporting.
