NHS Lothian, facing the need for constant and accurate oxygen tank readings during the COVID-19 pandemic, turned to Automation Anywhere to help replace a manual monitoring process that required staff to log in and collect readings every few hours. The challenge was to reduce workload, prevent errors, and ensure reliable oxygen supply data for critical patient care.

Automation Anywhere helped implement an RPA bot that automatically logged into the oxygen supplier’s website, captured tank readings, updated internal records and dashboards, and enabled 24/7 monitoring without human intervention. The result was about 1,500 hours of staff capacity redirected to more valuable work, 100% data input accuracy, and faster issue detection with reduced clinical risk.
