KeyBank, a leading U.S. financial services firm headquartered in Cleveland, needed to make labor‑intensive processes more efficient as it grew and faced the sudden demands of COVID‑19. The bank sought to streamline onboarding and PPP funding, mortgage quality checks and COVID‑related loss‑mitigation workflows to improve employee and customer experience while keeping costs manageable.
KeyBank deployed Robotic Process Automation and IQ Bot, built an internal RPA training program (175 employees), and automated end‑to‑end workflows across loans and reconciliations. The program processed 40,000 documents through IQ Bot, put 97 unattended bots into production across about 100 systems, and produced roughly $5M in run‑rate savings in 2020; notably, nine bots completed nine years’ worth of loan‑origination work in two weeks with a 15% exception rate.
