How Terreal leverages RPA to boost accuracy and efficiency

Terreal, a European manufacturer of clay building materials with €626M in 2020 sales and over 3,300 employees, faced inefficient, error-prone manual processes for tracking pallet inventory and integrating daily postings into its ERP. Multiple-step workflows relied on manual copy‑and‑paste, caused frequent input errors, required IT to spend many hours correcting data, and stalled when responsible employees were absent.

Using Automation Anywhere’s Automation 360 on‑prem, Terreal automated the pallet process—handling nearly 60,000 stock movements per year by retrieving provider files from SFTP, validating them, loading into SQLite, and posting to SAP—and automated health insurance accounting and bank statement integration to run before staff arrive. The bots eliminated interruptions, reduced errors, kept inventory up to date, saved about 730 hours annually, achieved 100% accuracy and 98% efficiency gains, and enabled the company to scale RPA into other departments.
