Eastman, a global specialty materials company with about 14,500 employees, sought to eliminate non‑value‑adding work in its customer service organization where hundreds of CSRs were manually entering purchase orders into SAP—work that was time‑consuming, error‑prone and required rework.
Eastman piloted IQ Bot integrated with its Automation Anywhere platform, deploying two bots (an order retriever and an order translation bot) to extract data from emailed PDF orders, stage it in Excel and create sales orders in SAP. The pilot, trained on multiple customer layouts, is projected to save 4,242 hours annually with 100% accuracy and is being rolled out in phases across worldwide plants toward end‑to‑end order processing.
