Cartus Removes the ‘robot’ From Employees, Improves Customer Relations With RPA

Cartus, a global leader in corporate relocation with 3,500 employees operating in more than 185 countries, faced a growing problem: staff were spending too much time on repetitive data‑compilation tasks instead of analysis, which hurt speed, focus and the customer experience. To “remove the robot” from employees’ daily duties, Cartus embarked on an RPA initiative to automate tedious processes and improve both employee and customer satisfaction.

Over a 6‑month finance and accounting pilot, employees identified repeatable tasks for automation and Cartus deployed 26 bots (surpassing a 10‑bot goal). A Center of Excellence scaled the program, technical ownership moved to IT, and the company is now expanding RPA globally with plans to add AI capabilities. Results included a 16% improvement in audit lead time, a 22% decrease in AP cycle time and a 21% increase in client satisfaction, while employees shifted to higher‑value analytical work.
