Holcim, a global leader in building materials with 63,000 employees across 61 countries, faced fragmentation in its shared service centers after recent mergers—multiple geographies and legacy processes made customer setup and credit assignment slow and inconsistent. Following a successful RPA pilot in India, the company chose Automation 360 cloud to standardize onboarding and shared processes across its global hubs.
Using Automation 360 cloud, Holcim automated the Customer Data Master (≈80 data fields) and Credit Control processes with a human‑bot approach and ten bots in production. Customer creation dropped from 48 hours to 4 hours and credit assignment from 2–3 days to a few hours, delivering 100% accuracy, a 92% faster credit approval cycle and a 40% efficiency gain (≈7 FTEs), while removing duplicates and enabling near‑real‑time bot-to-bot handoffs as the solution scaled across Europe and the Americas.
