Case Study: Cargill achieves $18M in savings and 236 automations with Automation Anywhere

A Automation Anywhere Case Study

Preview of the Cargill Case Study

$18M saved and counting in 5 year RPA journey at Cargill

Cargill, a 156‑year‑old global food and agriculture company operating in more than 125 countries, faced widespread variation in processes across regions and business units that created heavy manual work and error risk. The lack of standardization—from order intake to vendor management—presented a large automation opportunity to reduce repetitive tasks and improve partner and customer satisfaction.

Over a five‑year RPA program, Cargill’s CoE deployed 236 automations across functions (80 Source‑to‑Pay, 50+ Order Entry, plus Trading, Finance, HR, IT and more), capturing 600 opportunities and delivering $18M in savings to date. Key results include an Order Entry solution (RPA + OCR) processing 50,000 orders annually and Source‑to‑Pay bots that delivered $1.2M in labor savings and deactivated 268,000 vendor records, transforming many processes to near‑100% touchless operations.
