Windover Construction provides clients with digital twins as part of project handover

Windover Construction, a general contractor focused on technical innovation in New England, saw a major gap in the handover process from construction to facilities management. Using Autodesk’s digital twin solution, Autodesk Tandem, the team found that valuable BIM coordination data was being lost at project closeout, while clients were left with cumbersome manuals, PDF drawings, or complex files they could not easily use.

To solve this, Windover implemented Autodesk Tandem to turn fully coordinated Navisworks models into user-friendly digital twins containing asset data such as warranties, installation dates, and manufacturer information. Autodesk helped Windover create a repeatable handover workflow that takes about two weeks per project to populate FM data, improved client access to building information, and produced a living document that can be updated over time; the approach was so successful that Windover made it a standard part of its practice and also began receiving scan-to-digital-twin requests.
