A Autodesk Case Study
Taillandier Architectes Associes, a Toulouse-based firm, was asked to design a striking cube-like headquarters for tunneling specialist Bessac that combined prefabricated concrete, aluminum-framed glazing, and perforated metal panels. To ensure off-site prefabrication and on-site construction lined up perfectly—particularly plumbing and electrical access—Taillandier required model-based BIM workflows and turned to Autodesk tools, notably Revit, even though many project partners initially only used 2D methods.
Autodesk solutions (Revit, Navisworks Manage, and Autodesk Cloud Rendering) were used to create work-shared models, linked files, clash detection, and worksets across 15 trades, enabling coordinated shop drawings and production models for prefabrication. The Autodesk-driven workflow eliminated installation errors (no flaws in fixed electrical/water positions), sped up shop-drawing production, reduced material and transport waste, and delivered the 8,300-square-foot building as designed without costly rework.
