A Autodesk Case Study
Johnson Fain, a Los Angeles architecture firm, faced the challenge of designing the Figueroa Eight residential high-rise within a complex framework of city regulations, design guidelines, and developer cost constraints for their client, Mitsui Fudosan America. They needed to maximize the building's potential while effectively communicating design intent and technical details to the client, contractors, and city officials.
Using Autodesk Revit, Johnson Fain created a centralized 3D model that was instrumental in solving design problems, iterating on the curtain wall for cost and sustainability savings, and generating clear visualizations. The use of Autodesk tools and the Enscape plugin enabled immersive virtual reality reviews, leading to better-informed decisions by all stakeholders. This collaborative digital process allowed the project to overcome its constraints efficiently, resulting in a sophisticated, sustainable new landmark for the Los Angeles skyline.
