A Autodesk Case Study
BLDUS is an award-winning architecture firm based in Washington, DC, that sought to reinvent residential design by pioneering the use of sustainable, organic building materials. Their challenge was to manage the complexities of these innovative projects, from design to certification, while effectively communicating their vision to clients and stakeholders. To achieve this, they utilized Autodesk software, primarily Autodesk Revit, as an integral part of their process.
Autodesk provided BLDUS with Revit and analysis tools like Autodesk CFD, which enabled the firm to efficiently design, manage, and achieve LEED Platinum certification for projects like the Grass House. The software allowed for seamless BIM integration, rapid ideation, and precise tracking of sustainable materials. The result was the successful creation of the first code-compliant bamboo building on the East Coast, which sequesters five to six times more carbon than traditional wood framing and is 60% more thermally efficient, demonstrating Autodesk's role in bringing their sustainable vision to reality.
