A Autodesk Case Study
The LiRo Group, a construction management and design firm, faced coordination and visibility challenges on massive infrastructure work—most notably New York City’s East Side Access, which spanned 100,000 drawings, 25 separate contracts and decades of paper‑based designs. To modernize delivery and collaboration, LiRo adopted Autodesk solutions, including the Autodesk Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection with Revit and InfraWorks, to move from fragmented 2D workflows to shared BIM workflows.
Using Autodesk tools, LiRo’s VDC/O group rebuilt the megaproject into over 125 interconnected Revit models, supplemented by InfraWorks planning, reality capture scans and drone-enabled scan-to-BIM, plus VR/mixed‑reality visualizations for stakeholder review. The effort uncovered close to 400 constructability issues before work progressed—saving significant rework, time and cost—improved multi‑contractor coordination, and enabled reuse of models for operations, demonstrating measurable programmatic and operational benefits from Autodesk’s AEC technology.
