The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) faced the immense challenge of managing hundreds of concurrent infrastructure projects, a process historically reliant on inefficient paper documentation and siloed communication. To enhance cross-departmental collaboration, streamline workflows, and eliminate administrative burdens, PennDOT sought to implement a comprehensive digital project delivery strategy and partnered with Autodesk to leverage the Autodesk Construction Cloud, including Autodesk Docs and Autodesk Build.
The solution implemented with Autodesk established a connected common data environment within the new Project Delivery Collaboration Center (PDCC), serving as a digital backbone for the entire project lifecycle. This Autodesk-powered system replaced paper and email trails with automated electronic workflows, centralized file management, and mobile applications, leading to exponential time savings, the removal of duplicate work, and increased accuracy and accountability across all stakeholders.
