Multi-story timber building reaches new sustainable design milestone

Henning Larsen and Ramboll, an architecture and engineering firm, faced the challenge of designing a large-scale commercial building that could meet ambitious new Danish sustainability regulations and significantly reduce embodied carbon. To achieve this for their Marmormolen project, they partnered with Autodesk and utilized its technology, including Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Construction Cloud, to design one of Denmark's largest timber structures.

By leveraging Autodesk's tools for design, collaboration, and lifecycle assessment, the team was able to optimize the building's design for sustainability. The solution implemented with Autodesk technology resulted in the Marmormolen project achieving a potential reduction of embodied carbon by up to 65% compared to traditional concrete construction, setting a new standard for future large-scale timber projects.
