Liberation Park Market Hall and Residences cultivate sustainable community

Y.A. studio, a Black and woman-owned architecture firm, faced the challenge of designing a permanent, sustainable, and affordable housing development for an underserved community in Oakland without losing the grassroots spirit of the existing Liberation Park. They utilized Autodesk's software, including Revit and BIM Collaborate Pro, to design the project and maintain continuous collaboration with community stakeholders.

Autodesk's tools provided the flexible and compatible platform needed to bring the vision to life. The solution resulted in the design of the 119-unit Liberation Park Market Hall and Residences, which prioritizes healthy indoor spaces, community placemaking, and art. Autodesk software enabled the design of a kinetic façade, seamless collaboration with a diverse team of consultants, and the creation of renderings that were vital for community feedback, ensuring the final design reflected the neighborhood's pride.
