A Autodesk Case Study
Advantic is a Dayton, Ohio–based startup that designs and fabricates advanced polymer composite materials to replace corroding steel and concrete in harsh environments. Facing challenges like rapid reinforcement of a stadium-size corroding roof in the Australian Outback and sensitive installations such as a zoo enclosure, Advantic used Autodesk tools—specifically Fusion 360—to coordinate engineering, fabrication, and field changes in real time.
Using Autodesk Fusion 360, Advantic streamlined collaboration between shop and site, optimized project delivery, and validated composite solutions that are up to 75% lighter than concrete. The Autodesk-enabled workflow helped Advantic fabricate and airfreight 700 pieces that were installed in 9.5 days—saving Newmont roughly $6 million AUD—reduced zoo downtime with pre-cut components, and proved durable in extreme weather.
