Increasing efficiency and improving project outcomes by moving to BIM

Max Fordham, a UK-based engineering firm with 175 engineers across five offices, needed to move from 2D AutoCAD-based design to 3D delivery to meet growing client demand for BIM-compliant project work. The company wanted a more efficient way to handle complex MEP projects while improving coordination, consistency, and project outcomes using Autodesk Revit.

Autodesk helped Max Fordham implement Revit, along with custom templates, family libraries, standards, and in-house tools built on Revit’s open APIs. The result was a 23% increase in worker productivity per engineer, about 14,000 labor hours saved, and estimated salary cost savings of £250K to £300K, while also reducing risk, improving collaboration, and enabling better design quality and talent retention.
