How LERA is reducing redundant work to make way for inspired problem solving

LERA, a New York City–based consulting structural engineering firm, needed a better way to handle increasingly complex building designs while meeting tighter delivery schedules. Working with Autodesk products, especially Revit alongside tools like SAP2000, ETABS, and Dynamo, LERA set out to reduce repetitive manual work and improve the flow of information between design and analysis.

Autodesk helped LERA implement computational design and integrated, automated workflows that feed analysis data directly into Revit, allowing engineers to test more options earlier and produce more precise designs. The result has been major time savings—tasks that once took five hours can now take seconds—plus improved innovation, higher-quality work, and a path toward extending optimization into digital fabrication and reducing costs beyond engineering into fabrication.
