GRAEF's integrated BIM workflows cut months off project timelines

GRAEF, a Wisconsin-based structural engineering firm, wanted to improve project delivery, reduce reliance on outsourced detailing, and give its engineers more hands-on experience with BIM. Working with Autodesk and its AEC Collection, including Revit and Advance Steel, GRAEF set out to create more integrated workflows that would make the firm more efficient and competitive.

Autodesk’s interoperable BIM tools helped GRAEF bring detailing in-house, sync connection information throughout the model, and coordinate more effectively with architects and contractors using BIM 360. The results included schedule savings of four to six weeks on single-deliverable projects and up to three months on projects with multiple design packages, along with fewer RFIs, less rework, improved collaboration, and better training for junior staff.
