Case Study: OuyOut transforms a former school into an energy-efficient workspace with Autodesk Services Marketplace

French design firm turns a concrete eyesore into a modern, energy-efficient workspace

OuyOut, a Paris-based architecture firm, faced the challenge of transforming a dilapidated 1960s school in Epernay, France, into a modern, highly energy-efficient workspace for CDER while preserving the existing structure and meeting ambitious sustainability goals. To do it, the team needed accurate building data and support for advanced BIM and energy-analysis workflows, and turned to Autodesk Services Marketplace for help.

With Autodesk’s help, OuyOut hired specialists for reality capture and Scan to BIM, using Autodesk ReCap Pro to process precise 3D scans and Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Insight to model the building and test performance. Autodesk also connected the team to customized training through Graitec, enabling millimeter-level design accuracy, better façade and energy decisions, and a reduced need for new materials, which lowered capital costs and embodied carbon while positioning the project to meet EnerPHit-level efficiency targets.
