Case Study: Fortis Construction achieves reduced rework and improved constructability with Autodesk BIM solutions

A Autodesk Case Study

Preview of the Fortis Construction Case Study

Fortis Construction a General Contractor with a Mission

Fortis Construction, an employee-owned general contractor based in Portland, Oregon, needed a way to manage complex, high‑risk projects (data centers, healthcare, education) and reduce constructability issues and rework during preconstruction. To do that, Fortis adopted BIM workflows and partnered with Autodesk, using Revit, Navisworks and Autodesk BIM 360 to compile models, coordinate multi‑discipline teams and hand over usable design/construction data to owners.

Using Autodesk tools, Fortis ran model‑based simulations, clash detection and cloud coordination to catch conflicts and deliver up‑to‑date field information—reducing RFIs, costly rework and improving quality; one project’s clash detection prevented more than $200,000 in rework. The Autodesk‑enabled BIM program helped Fortis quadruple in size, win repeat business (over 90% of work), apply BIM on nearly all feasible projects and scale into reality capture and live field data collection.
