A Autodesk Case Study
MartinCSI, a Columbus-area systems integrator for industrial manufacturing, faced a tight electrical-design challenge for a new ice cream sandwich filling machine: separate high-voltage and 24V circuits in very small control panels while accommodating multiple servo motors and preventing overheating. To meet safety and space constraints the team relied on Autodesk tools—specifically AutoCAD and the Electrical toolset—to develop the schematics and panel layouts.
Using Autodesk AutoCAD and the Electrical toolset, MartinCSI implemented precise panel layouts, automatic wire numbering, project-wide component tagging, PLC database support, and reusable templates/blocks from manufacturers. The solution ensured correct spacing and heat management, sped up routine edits and alignment, and dramatically increased design accuracy and field labeling efficiency, allowing the machine to be built reliably and more quickly.
