Digital Twins A new frontier for improving comfort and wellbeing

KEO International Consultants, an award-winning multidisciplinary consultancy operating in the Middle East and Europe, wanted to explore how digital twin technology could help measure, define, and optimize comfort and wellbeing in buildings. Using Autodesk Tandem alongside Autodesk Revit, the team aimed to turn building data into actionable insights for a pilot project focused on improving occupants’ experience and productivity.

Autodesk helped KEO connect near-real-time IoT sensor data to a digital twin in Autodesk Tandem, then extend it with custom Dynamo-based generative design and optimization models. By analyzing more than 1,000 variables and over 100,000 desk assignment combinations, KEO identified changes that could deliver an 11% boost in occupant comfort and wellbeing, a 30% reduction in distractions, and more than a 75% improvement in daylight accessibility.
