Case Study: Norconsult achieves on-time rail project delivery with Autodesk BIM software

Complex phase planning and on-time project completion with BIM

Norconsult worked on an ambitious rail project in Norway that involved building a new station on top of an older one while keeping the station operational for riders. The challenge also included raising the structure by 40 centimeters to prevent flooding near a river and designing a 7-kilometer tunnel as part of a double-track connection between two major cities. To support this complex project, Norconsult used Autodesk software including Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.

With Autodesk, Norconsult achieved complex phase planning, better collaboration, new efficiencies and automation, and on-time delivery. The company says the technology helped the project stay on budget and enabled a high level of design precision, which was crucial to its success. Autodesk’s tech stack played a key role in delivering what Norconsult described as the only part of the intercity project that was on budget.
