Case Study: Canam Group reduces site issues with Autodesk BIM workflows

Canam Group transformed their project process with integrated BIM workflows to reduce construction site issues by a factor of 10

Canam Group, one of North America’s largest fabricators of structural steel components, needed a better way to coordinate complex projects across multiple locations and teams while reducing site issues, clashes, and rework. Using Autodesk AEC Collection and Autodesk BIM 360 Design, the company set out to bring engineering design and fabrication detailing into a unified, interoperable BIM workflow.

With Autodesk, Canam implemented integrated workflows in Revit and BIM 360 Design to improve collaboration, catch clashes earlier, and create a single live model for all teams. The result was a dramatic drop in construction problems—from about 30 site issues a week to roughly 30 on an entire project—while also improving efficiency, reducing waste, and helping Canam win new business with as-built 3D models.
