A Autodesk Case Study
Magnolia Quality Development Corporation (MQDC) set out to create WHIZDOM 101, a 17‑acre “Great Good Place” in Bangkok that combines housing, workplaces, green public spaces and smart building systems to tackle urban isolation, improve livability, and meet ambitious LEED Gold sustainability targets. To modernize design and construction workflows and coordinate a broad local supply chain, MQDC partnered with Autodesk, using BIM tools such as Revit and the BIM 360 construction‑management platform.
Autodesk helped MQDC introduce BIM gradually—starting with Revit for design coordination and using BIM 360 through preconstruction and construction—so architects, engineers, contractors and suppliers could reduce change orders, lower material costs, and produce a full BIM as‑built model for facilities management. The Autodesk‑enabled approach cut construction waste by up to 15%, supported MQDC’s targets to reduce energy use by ~30%, water use by ~40% and CO2 emissions by roughly 15,000 tons per year, and helped the project earn recognition including an Autodesk AEC Excellence Award.
