A Autodesk Case Study
Boston-based Touloukian Touloukian Inc., a nine-person architecture firm focused on civic and environmentally responsible design, needed to deliver adaptive-reuse and tightly sited urban projects—navigating complex zoning, historic oversight, permitting, and close subcontractor coordination for work like the Lumen restaurant at Detroit’s Beacon Park. To address these constraints the firm used Autodesk AutoCAD and the Architecture toolset for design, documentation, and regulatory analysis.
By using Autodesk AutoCAD and the Architecture toolset to produce base documents and zoning diagrams, coordinate shop drawings with subcontractors, and deliver contractor-ready drawing sets, Touloukian Touloukian Inc. sped iterations, improved precision, and strengthened collaboration across consultants. The approach helped produce the award-winning Lumen (LEED Silver pending) — which has earned five awards including the 2018 American Architecture Award — and contributed to the firm’s rise to #30 on Architect Magazine’s Top 50 Firms and 19 design awards across eight projects in 2017.
