Scaling for Success in the Plant and Manufacturing Industry through Standardised Ways of Working

Axalta Coating Systems, a global coatings provider based in Basel, Switzerland, needed a better way to manage project documentation and collaboration for its plant engineering and construction work. Using Autodesk Construction Cloud, specifically BIM 360, the team set out to move from local server-based file storage to a secure cloud environment with standardized document management and digital workflows.

Autodesk Construction Cloud helped Axalta implement a 12-month transition plan that included testing, migration, training, and internal process standardization for naming conventions, folder structures, approvals, and model coordination. As a result, Axalta gained a single source of truth, improved transparency and communication across stakeholders, and better project quality and decision-making; the company also expanded use of the platform beyond the initial subsidiary, with further rollout being explored across additional departments.
