Osborne Delivers Rigorous, Efficient Quality Control to Keep a Busy Stretch of Motorway Safe and Operational

Osborne, a construction and solutions provider for the built environment, needed a better way to manage rigorous quality control and safety on the Gade Valley Viaduct project on the M25 while keeping the motorway open. Working with Autodesk Construction Cloud, the team sought to reduce inefficiencies in its BIM 360-based workflows, avoid duplicated effort, and improve collaboration across multiple contractors handling thousands of inspections, welds, bolts, and safety records.

Autodesk Construction Cloud helped Osborne optimize BIM 360 as a common data environment, using 2D pins, checklists, photos, test results, daily diaries, and barcode tracking to centralize project information and streamline on-site workflows. The results included more than 3,000 work hours saved, a 10% efficiency increase, and the elimination of around 150,000 paper sheets, while also improving defect tracking, reducing communication errors, and supporting remote collaboration during COVID-19.
