McKinstry Experiences 50% Time-Savings with Assemble for Earned Value Tracking

McKinstry, a national specialty contractor, needed a faster and more accurate way to perform earned value tracking on a complex Seattle life science project. Using Autodesk Construction Cloud and its Assemble product, the team moved away from a manual 2D drawing-based process that was time-consuming, difficult to compare against budget, and prone to errors in measuring installed progress.

With Autodesk Construction Cloud’s Assemble, McKinstry published the CAD model to the cloud, grouped and filtered objects by system and installation status, and tied custom properties to model data for clearer progress reporting. The result was 50% time savings, improved data quality, eliminated redundancies, and a much tighter earned value tracking number—improving from being generally within 10% to within 3%—with the solution already deployed on at least 50% of large-scale projects.
