How Sellen Construction Optimized the Use of Construction Technology to Drive a Digital Transformation

Sellen Construction, a Seattle-based general contractor, needed to standardize inconsistent workflows and create a more connected digital ecosystem to support its design, preconstruction, and construction teams. To drive its digital transformation, Sellen partnered with Autodesk Construction Cloud and began using products including Autodesk BIM 360, Assemble, and BuildingConnected to improve collaboration, process consistency, and data-driven decision-making.

With Autodesk Construction Cloud, Sellen built a “Digital Core” that connected data across the project lifecycle, improved quantity takeoff and estimating with BIM model imports into Assemble, and used BIM 360 as a single source of truth for real-time model collaboration. The company also used BuildingConnected to prequalify subcontractors and increase participation from diverse vendors, including achieving 100% participation for a specific fire extinguisher bid scope, while gamified training helped boost technology adoption across its multi-generational workforce.
