AO, a full-service architectural, master planning, and design firm, needed a better way to support collaboration, reduce friction in workflows, and help its teams focus more on design than on technology. The company’s Design/Workflow Technology Lead, Jeff Thomas III, emphasized that the biggest challenges were relational and process-related, along with the need to keep pace with rapidly evolving tools. Autodesk Construction Cloud, including PlanGrid and BIM Collaborate Pro, was brought in to support that effort.

With Autodesk Construction Cloud, AO aimed to automate repetitive tasks, simplify learning, and make project information easier to access and use across the team. Jeff Thomas III noted that PlanGrid is intuitive and easy to teach in small increments, helping fit learning into busy schedules and reducing disruption to day-to-day work.
