Case Study: BECA achieves faster coordination and improved asset handover with Autodesk BIM 360

Increased collaboration and coordination with BIM

BECA, a major Asia‑Pacific engineering and design consultancy, led the redesign and fit‑out of a new Cathlab Facility at Tauranga Hospital and faced tight eight‑month delivery, limited ceiling voids, extensive seismic bracing requirements, many small rooms creating clash risks, and the need for an accurate, maintainable asset schedule. To address these challenges BECA worked with Autodesk BIM 360 and related Autodesk tools (Autodesk ReCap, Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360 Glue and BIM 360 Field), with Autodesk Consulting support.

Autodesk BIM 360’s approach combined point‑cloud capture (ReCap), Revit modeling, Navisworks clash detection and cloud collaboration via BIM 360 Glue with BIM 360 Field for asset capture, plus workflow and training from Autodesk Consulting and a dedicated Customer Success Manager. The solution improved coordination and stakeholder sign‑off, removed the typical 6–18 month recapture process, enabled confident, timely delivery within the tight schedule, and produced a neutral asset data drop for the hospital’s facilities management.
